On December 12th Christmas in Canaan, starring YBStar Jaishon Fisher (profile) along side Billy Ray Cyrus, will be premiering on the Hallmark Channel. Christmas in Canaan tells the story of how a wounded puppy brings together two young boys living during the Civil Rights Movement. Jaishon Fisher (profile) just booked a new movie for the Hallmark Channel called Christmas in Canaan where he will be playing “Young Rodney” and working opposite Billy Ray Cyrus! He is filming it in Canada. The movie, which is based on the book “Christmas in Canaan” by Kenny Rogers and Donald Davenport, is scheduled to air on December 12, 2009 on Hallmark Channel.

Synopsis: In the rural town of Canaan, Texas, a clash between two classmates one, a tough farm boy, and the other, a bright bookish black boy evolves into an unlikely friendship. The boys’ families devise a plan to teach them a lesson after they fight, but it is a wounded puppy that eventually brings them together. It is amidst the magic of Christmas that the boys learn about family, hope and love despite living under the shadow of racism.

Congrats on making the poster Jaishon! Just a reminder, The Ben Carson Story will air on TNT on February 7th. Jaishon plays the role of the young Bennie Carson who grew up in a rough inner-city neighborhood and later became the director pediatric neurosurgery at a prestigious hospital.
