I’ve added some great pictures of The Sims Girls and Chelsea Tavares to the gallery (they’re all under The Sims Girls Gallery). The pictures were taken October 15th at an event called Day of the Child – Children Uniting Nations!
The Day of the Child event was designed to bring awareness and support the needs of the children who, by no fault of their own, are living in and out of home care. It’s the community’s way of letting foster children know that someone cares by providing mentors for the day. The Sims Girls performed at this event.

Chelsea Tavares, Kylee Russell Hollywood’s most lovable sisters

F i f t e e n – y e a r – o l d Chelsea Tavares and her nine-year-old sister,
Kylee Russell, might be the two most lovable show-biz sisters in Hollywood! That statement is a challenging mouthful considering the abundance of cute, talented children siblings in tinseltown. Both girls radiate grace, charm, maturity and professionalism beyond their physical years. They were such a dream pair to work with, that I immediately inducted them into my personally, hand picked family of spiritually chosen child/teen actors. They are on the fast track to joining the ranks of teen legends such as Hillary Duff, Mandy Moore, Alyssa Milano, Amanda Bynes and Brandy.
Tavares, currently stars as “Cranberry St. Claire,” the sassy teen beauty with a “fashion is everything,” attitude, on the Nickelodeon hit series “UNFABULOUS,” opposite Emma Roberts, who is the niece of superstar actress Julia Roberts. “Unfabulous,” is among the top three most watched teen shows on TV and is entering its third season. Tavares has been nominated for “Outstanding Young Performer in a TV Series,” by the “Young Artist Awards.” She made her Broadway stage debut as “Young Nala,” with the Los Angeles cast of Disney’s Lion King for the entire year of 2002.
Tavares’ modeling and commercial work has included assignments for Burger King, Honda, GAP, T Rowe Price and Reese’s Cereal, to name a few. She writes poetry, short stories and songs. She also is an accomplished singer/dancer, having appeared in music videos and doing background vocals for major acts in the studio. She is currently recording an album.
Russell, the younger sib, just wrapped a made for TV movie “Jump,” for Disney. She has done many commercials such as Oscar Meyer Lunchables, Jiff Peanut Butter, Mattel/Fisher Price Toys etc., and has shot modeling print work for clients such as Kodak, Disney, Target Stores and others. Russell’s TV work includes guest appearances on “ER” for NBC; “Eve” for UPN; “The District” for CBS and that list continues as well. Russell also sings.
Both girls are so friendly and down to earth, they feel like family if you hang around them long enough. Obviously, Chelsea is the fine and sexy sister but she has style and class to match. Kylee is a definite cutie-pie with a pure sweet nature that is infectious. She can sit with you and have a conversation that makes sense! Kylee just returned from filming the Disney double dutch, skip rope TV film in Toronto. When asked did she have a good time, her sweet face lit up.
“Yes, it was very, very fun,” she said. “I played the younger sister ‘Izzy.’”
Could she actually skip rope? “Well, I jumped with one rope until everybody taught me how to jump with two ropes, so I can double dutch very well. They’re not going to show me double dutching (in the movie). It’s all the other kids doing the competition. My role is to annoy my other brother,” explained Kylee.
Young Russell beams with composure and confidence when asked about her audition for the part.
“It was fun,” she said. “I really wanted to get it, but I knew I would get it, because I had a feeling that I would. I just worked very hard.”
Older sis Chelsea is just as confident. She describes her demeanor for winning the part of Cranberry,
“I play a mean popular girl and I just did myself. I have my own style and my own flare. I was doing it and I was hot when I got it!” said Chelsea.
How much of Cranberry’s character is in Tavares’ in real life?
“I’m not really mean, but if someone really gets me frustrated or wants to come at me, I’ll be like, step back! I’m not like Cranberry, but I like to play different roles,” she said.
Does she get approached by her fans in public, especially the guys? She laughs:
“Some guys will come up and say, ‘excuse me, are you the girl from Unfabulous,’ I’ll say, ‘yeah,’ and they usually walk away.”
These two sisters have a permanent place in this writer’s heart as I know they will with their fans and followers for years to come.
