BIOGRAPHY

CHELSEA TAVARES… a 14-year-old singer/actress/performer is currently a series regular as the sassy popular “Cranberry” on Nickelodeon’s hit TV show “Unfabulous”. She is packed with much attitude and her comedic sense and timing is on the mark! The Young Artist Awards have nominated her for “Outstanding Young Performer in a TV Series”. Unfabulous is among the top 3 most watched teen shows on Nickelodeon, a division of Viacom and is seen by 77 million households and was nominated for the Teen Choice Awards.

At age 10, Chelsea landed the lead role of “Young Nala” in Disney’s Broadway Production of “The Lion King” in the Los Angeles cast at the famed Hollywood’s Pantages Theater… the largest production ever. No stranger to the camera, Chelsea has appeared in numerous network national commercials and print ads including: Burger King, Chef-Boy-ar-dee, Honda, GAP, and T Rowe Price to name a few.

Though Chelsea shines with the carefree innocence of youth she can produce tears in dramatic roles that display compassion and understanding beyond her years like that in her role as “Angie Dayton” who witnessed murder and domestic violence on CBS’ The District or as “Virginia Carter” who finds herself in a wheelchair permanently disabled after falling from a faulty balcony rail in ABC’s “The Practice”. Music is her passion! An experienced solo and background vocalist with great pitch, control and impeccable tone, Chelsea loves being in the studio doing voice over work as well. She is currently working on her CD and has completed her music video, “Don’t waste My Time”—Chal-Ky Ent. Inc. A wonderful dancer from hip-hop to ballet, Chelsea gracefully moves her slender body with excellent rhythm and stage presence. Her creativity broadens with writing abilities expressing feelings through poetry, short stories and songs.

Exhibiting honorable leadership qualities, Chelsea knows the importance of being a team player. She loves the great outdoors, enjoys most action sports with a healthy passion for challenge and competition. Down to earth and very natural, it is evident that Chelsea is grounded and surrounded with family and friends who love and support her.
