Great News! Keke Palmer will soon be doing not one, but two new movies! The first movie, called ‘Comeback,’ is a true story based on the achievements of Jasmine Plummer, an 11-year-old who became the first African American female quarterback on an all boys football team. Keke will play the role of 12-13 year old Jasmine. She will work with Ice Cube who plays her uncle, who mentors her as she becomes the first gal quarterback. Filming begins tomorrow.

She was also offered a movie called ‘Vapors‘ playing the role of Roxanne Shante, a famous teenage rapper in the 80′s. More info on this movie will come later. CONGRATULATIONS KEKE!

Hey everyone! I’m so excited about this new change and I hope that you all find it exciting and fresh as well! Anyway, I have some good news! Young Black Starz Denzel Whitaker and Jurnee Smollett will be on the Oprah Winfrey show this coming Monday, November 26th. Their appearance is for the upcoming movie The Great Debaters, which is set to be released Christmas Day. Check your local TV listings for showtimes!

Hey Everyone! We already have our first new addition to Young Black Starz! Our new star is 13 year old India Scandrick. India is a singer, dancer, actress and so much more! She’s been seen in theatrical plays and on Broadway in such shows which include The Lion King, The Wiz, and Annie (she was the first African American to ever play the role of Annie). She had a small scene in the Lifetime TV movie, ‘Life is not a Fairytale.’ India loves cheerleading, basketball, skateboarding and jump rope among other things. Currently, India has a debut single out called Wrong Move which can be heard on her MySpace page HERE. To learn more about India Scandrick, take a look at her profile.

Hey Everyone! Welcome to our new home on the web, YoungBlackStarz.Org! We decided to combine both Black Girl Fame and Black Boy Fame into one big site for a number of reasons. We felt that the boys site was being overlooked because it was so similar to the girls’ site and so many people were already used to Black Girl Fame, therefore people missed out on a lot of the good news we posted on our boys and we didn’t like it. We want ALL of these young starz to be recognized and supported equally. This change is also beneficial to us, the staff, as we only have to look after one website, make one layout and when the kids work together it’s much easier to just post in one place instead of two. Having both sites separate was really too much to handle! So, we hope that you all embrace this change and continue to support the site as we are basically still the same, just under one site and a new name. We plan to have many new and exciting activities for our members as well so we think everyone can appreciate this change. Sorry for not forewarning you all about this, but we honestly didn’t want to hear too many different opinions about it, we just wanted to do what we thought was BEST for everyone involved.

We have restored everything from Black Girl Fame including our members, forums, private messages, shoutbox posts and more. However, we could only restore things from one website so we have LOST forum posts from Black Boy Fame and any members who joined that website but was not a member of Black Girl Fame has been lost as well. PLEASE JOIN AGAIN! We’re really sorry for the inconvenience!
