Fresh Faces
13 year old Nadji Jeter, and 12 year old Chaz Marcus Fleming are the new Fresh Faces here at Young Black Starz! Both Nadji and Chaz are accomplished performers.
Nadji, (L), started his career at a very young age as a dancer in Atlanta, where he had the opportunity to dance with USHER. He has since relocated to California and has guest starred on shows like “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” Nadji has also been in the movies Opposite Day, Dirty Laundry, and is currently starring in Columbia Pictures’ “Grown Ups,” as Andre McKenzie. Additionally, Nadji has done commercials for SunnyD, Walmart, Trix, GoGurt, McDonalds, and Nike, just to name a few.
Chaz, (R), has been working professionally as a model since the age of 9 when he signed with Ford Models NY. Chaz has modeled for Gap, Toys R Us, Marshall’s, Kmart and more. He was also in commercials for Papa Johns Pizza and Trix Cereal before landing a leading role in Disney’s “The Lion King” National Gaselle Tour as Young Simba!

Welcome to Young Black Starz 19 year old actress and singer Destenee Mckenzie! Destenee has held leading and supporting roles in various films and television shows such as Sister Switch, We Are Family, Hitting the Bricks, In Between, and others. The upcoming feature film Sister Switch is her latest project. Aside from acting, Destenee has a passion for music and has recently released her debut single Free. Destenee says, “The song Free is an empowerment song about breaking away from the expectations of others…” You can see the music video for the song under View More. Twelve year old Nia Imani is one of our freshest faces here at Young Black Starz!! Nia Imani is a multitalented young lady; she’s a Broadway actress, recording artist, songwriter, model, composer, and producer. Nia Imani has appeared in The Lion King on Broadway, Good Morning America, and Meet the Browns. She has also done voice over for Verizon, a commercial “Are You Afraid of the IRS”, and has been trained in numerous areas. As a musician, Nia Imani wrote and composed her debut single “Your Journey Begins” which was digitally released on iTunes and Amazon March 18, 2010! Be sure to check it out!
Five year old Berkeley Clayborne is our second fresh face! Berkeley is supermodel in the making as well as an actress. She is signed with Lily’s Talent Agency in Chicago and will appear in the upcoming feature film D.I.N.K.’s (Double Income – No Kids). Berkeley loves dance, gymnastics, and skating. In addition to her talents, Berkeley is learning to speak Spanish fluently! How cool is that!

Young Black Starz would like to introduce a new Fresh Face: 7 year old actress and model Skye Barrett (profile)! Skye began acting and modeling when she was just 3 years old. She has appeared in many different commercials including those done for Walmart, Target, Little Tykes, and others. She has also played roles in shows like House M.D., ER, and Bones. On the big screen, Skye has done the films The Opposite Day and National Treasure 2. When not acting or modeling, this little starlet enjoys dancing, cheerleading, and soccer. YBS welcomes Mariah Wilson (profile) as our newest Fresh Face! This 15 year old talented actress, singer, and dancer has been entertaining since she was a toddler. Mariah began dancing at age 2 and acting & singing at age 4. You all may recognize Mariah from the award winning movie “Dreamgirls” which stared Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Jamie Foxx, and others. Mariah played the role of Magic, the daughter of Effie (Jennifer Hudson). Mariah was the first actress in the history of Dreamgirls on Broadway to play this character!
Mariah has appeared in a number of other films including “You, Me & Dupree“, “Christmas with the Kranks“, “Be Cool“, and others. She has also shown up on television screens appearing on Lincoln Heights, Tyra Banks, and a Kmart commercial, just to name a few. Mariah has also appeared in theater and has done many performances. Being the amazing singer that she is, Mariah Wilson has also recorded a number of songs as well.
