Founded in November 2004, YOUNG BLACK STARZ shares and follows the careers, journeys and stories of those who are young, black and shining. Here you will find profiles filled with factual and exclusive information, the latest news, bookings, photos, videos and more on the stars as well as other content that relates to educating, motivating and entertaining youth. We support kids, teens and young adults who are just starting out in their careers just as well as those who have been in for years.

A Young Black Star, or young shiner as we like to call them, can be anyone who is young, black and positively shining in whatever they do. It may be through the arts, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, authorship, modeling, entertainment or something unique.

I’m Toria, and I’m the Founder, Chief Editor and Designer of Young Black Starz. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. I really LOVE what I do here, for more reasons than I can explain. I thank God for leading me to this and for all the blessings I’ve received thus far in doing this website. These children make me so proud and inspire me in so many ways! Since beginning this site they have inspired to go back and finish high school, attend college and pursue my own dreams. I have had the blessing of meeting and spending time with many of the stars in their families personally and have built lasting relationships too. I have been told, and I do believe that as the first place on the web to showcase young black stars my website has been a blessing to many of them, but they have all been a blessing to me as well!

WHAT ELSE DO I DO?

Besides the work I do here I am also a photographer and designer who specialize in youth. I do all of this under my company Banana Pop Productions. I have a goal of being a commercial, editorial, and headshot photographer. It is my dream to photograph some of the many stars I support on this website. God willing, it will happen sooner than later. I’ve been blessed with many gifts and I like to utilize them in ways that benefits others. Want more? Visit My Corner
