Kaelynn Gobert-Harris (“Kay-Kay”) may be a Fresh Face here at Young Black Starz, but to many her face is quite familiar. Earlier this year the 16-year-old and her dance crew 8 FLAVAHZ competed on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew where they impressed audiences and judges each week with their unique choreography. The crew won over thousands of fans and ended the competition in second place!
Kay Kay, who’s had no formal training, began dancing at the age of 5. Her career launched when she was selected for the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks dance team where she spent four years perfecting her skills. By age 12 she had worked with some of the most sought-after professional choreographers in the business.
Kaelynn has worked with artists like Sade, Soulja Boy, Willow Smith, Queen Latifah, Cicely Tyson, Diggy, Britney Spears and more. She’s appeared in four of Mindless Behavior‘s music videos and she will soon be featured in Young Marqus and Jacob Latimore‘s upcoming video for the song “Send Me a Picture.”
Not only has she appeared in music videos, Kay Kay performed for millions on the show X-Factor, and the MTV Video Music Awards. She worked on the animated film Ice Age – The Meltdown as well as with Disney, Macy’s, Nickelodeon and more.
