Great News! TV One is giving three young stars a chance to shine this Fall! Lil JJ, and newcomers Ajiona Alexus and Gabriel Burgess will be playing siblings and the children of comedian/radio host Rickey Smiley in their brand new comedy series The Rickey Smiley Show premiering on the network in September. Woot!
The new show is said to be loosely based on the real life of Rickey Smiley as a syndicated radio show host and single father to three young kids. Lil’ JJ is set to play the eldest son Brandon and the multi-talented Ajiona will star as his only daughter and middle child De’Anna. Little Gabriel plays Aaron, the baby of the bunch.
In addition to acting Ajiona is also an athlete, singer, rapper, dancer, spoken word artist and student! Whew! Gabriel has been acting since the age of two and already he has some independent films under his belt; he’s also done some modeling. Of course, many of us already know Lil JJ, but for those who aren’t familiar, he’s a rapper, comedian and actor who had his own series on Nickelodeon called Just Jordan in 2007. Currently he’s working on releasing new music.
The Rickey Smiley Show premieres on September 18, 2012 at 9pm on TV One and it also stars Ray J, J. Anthony Brown, Roz Ryan and Noree Victoria.
