BOOKINGS: NEW ROLES FOR QUVENZHANÉ, DUSAN, BROOKE & DAMARR

Rising young actress Quvenzhané Wallis, who turns 9 on the 28th of this month, has been cast in Steve McQueen’s upcoming movie Twelve Years A Slave! 12 Years A Slave is a period piece set in the mid-1800′s about a New York man who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in the deep south. No word yet on the role Quvenzhané plays in the film, however a photo from the set and other sources have confirmed that she is indeed a part of the cast. The movie also stars Brad Pitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard and Dwight Henry who played her father in Beasts Of The Southern Wild.

Straight off the set of the Jackie Robinson Biopic “42,” where he plays the role of the Young Ed Charles, Dusan Brown has found himself cast in another big role! The young actor has been cast in a new Nickelodeon comedy pilot entitled Gibby as a SERIES REGULAR! How cool is that?! The show is a spinoff of the popular show iCarly. Noah Munck, who plays Gibby on iCarly, will reprise his role in the new series taking on a job at a recreational center for kids and becomes a mentor to four “quirky” (aka odd LOL) middle-schoolers helping them to break out of their shell. Dusan plays one of the four middle schoolers.

Do you guys remember a few weeks ago when we shared a snapshot of Brooke Singleton, 6, and actor Trai Byers? We didn’t give much detail then, but the photo was taken on the set of the independent film The Option ARM which they both star in. Brooke plays the role of Renee Jones, the daughter of Trai’s character Theo Jones in the film! The Option ARM also stars actor Jon Gries. This marks Brooke’s second film project this year. She’s already filmed the short True Indigo with Keith David and BerNadette Stanis.

…And after booking many commercials in a very short time, seven-year-old Damarr Calhoun is moving up to the small screen! He has booked a co-starring role in ABC’s ever-so-popular series Scandal starring Kerry Washington and Columbus Short. We will share more details and hopefully even some on-set photos as they come.
