Child actress and model Brooke Singleton, 6, recently shot scenes for a short film called “True Indigo” where she played a character by the name of Ladonna “Young Ladonna”. Brooke had the opportunity to work with actors Keith David (The Princess and the Frog, ATL, Barbershop), BerNadette Stanis, who’s best known for her role as Thelma in Good Times, Ernest Lee Thomas (What’s Happening and Everybody hates Chris) and Sydelle Noel who played the adult role of Ladonna.
In the film, Brooke has a small but very powerful scene.
THE STORY
There are always two sides to a coin. Good and Bad. Right and Wrong.
It’s hard enough, for veteran undercover officer, Ladonna “Snaps” Watkins to uphold the law in the underbelly of Los Angeles, without having to stomach being forced to work for the man who killed her parents in cold blood. As the eve of the anniversary of her parent’s deaths’ draws near, she struggles with taking matters into her own hands.
Lon Wilson (Keith David), better known as “The King of LA” amongst the crime element of Los Angeles, once had his finger on the pulse of the city. With the re-gentrification of Downtown changing the face of LA and subsequently the face of crime, he is forced to pass the gauntlet. How does he choose? Especially when he has secrets.
