Kwesi Boakye is designing for charity! Kwesi is one of over 50 celebrity designers that were asked to custom make a “Verymeri” t-shirt for the NextAid Foundation. NextAid, a non-profit of Los Angeles, creates projects that serve needy children, youth, and women in Africa. (Fun Fact: Did you know that Kwesi is the great grandson of a Ghana West African King?!)
Kwesi’s teamed up with fellow young star Yara Shahidi to create a t-shirt design that brings awareness to the NextAid Foundation and to encourage other young people about the message of the t-shirt “Born a Star Always a Star.” Kwesi says that his t-shirt means, “You’re born the way you are for a reason, so believe in yourself.” What a great message!
The t-shirts are being sold in Nordstrom department stores nation wide and are available for girls 7-14. Kwesi is donating 100% of the royalties from the t-shirt sales to NextAid. Way to go to Kwesi and Yara on their charitable endeavor!
