Chaz Marcus Fleming attended the 1st Annual Film Festival for Kids in the Spotlight, Inc. On Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Raleigh Studios located in Hollywood. The event was hosted by Sherri Shepherd and Harry J. Lennix. Amongst the presenters were Dawn Lewis, Alimi Ballard, Tajh Bellow, Mindless Behavior and Jamia Nash. Chaz, who was actually cast in two of the short films felt honored to be apart of the event.
I feel so honored and blessed to have been apart of this event. When I first moved to LA in January auditioning for their film was actually my very first audition in California, I had just came off of a 15 month tour of Disney’s the Lion King. And I remember when I walked in the room to audition, there was a panel with all kids auditioning me. It was really cool. They happened to love my audition and everyone were fighting to have me in their film and so excited that a real actor showed up to audition as well that they ended up picking me for two. The Lonely Ones and Captive. The Lonely Ones was about four brothers who run away from home because their mothers’ boyfriend kept abusing their mom and they felt if they left the house they mother would follow. But she stayed and we end up getting into trouble with the law. And Captive, which I actually starred in along with Torrie Hart, Kevin Harts wife, she played my mother and I basically was kidnapped by this really stupid kidnapper. But overall it was a great experience for me I enjoyed working with them and Tige and I look forward to working with them again next year. Just giving back and sharing any talents I was able to lend while also inspiring kids my age and a little older to follow their dreams and do what I do as well was amazing for me.
