Yara Shahidi and her mom are both featured in this months issue of Essence Magazine in a piece called “The Princess Diaries.” The two ladies along with actresses Anika Noni Rose, Amber Riley, Nicki Micheaux and her daughter Simone all discussed the new Princess and the Frog movie and talked about “the ongoing need for positive Black female images in media.” See scans of the feature below.
